■ HAVING a global season is all well and good. However, why do we have to kow tow to the Sanzaar nations? The major world sporting populations are in the northern hemisphere, subsequently, all the big sporting occasions that we enjoy are too: The Open, Ryder Cup, Olympics, Test matches, Wimbledon, Roland Garros, need I go on.
The TV companies are not going to sacrifice those blue riband events and Rugby will take a back seat.
