BEING both a proud Cornishman – and therefore surely a rugby man – and a razor sharp former Financial Services Minister, I have high hopes Lord Myners will cut to the chase with his independent review of the salary cap which is clearly not fit for purpose. I expect him to laser in on the present and future, not the past.
To help that process I would point out that in 2019 Saracens players made 68 England starts. I will not look at players on the England bench, or in the squad but not in the match 23.
