ONE of Danny Cipriani’s most staunch advocates before his move to Gloucester this season was Sir Clive Woodward.
England’s only World Cup-winning coach took the view before Cipriani’s arrival at Kingsholm that he was essential to the national side’s success.
However, following Cipriani’s run-in with the law on the club’s preseason tour to Jersey, Woodward has turned turtle so completely that he says now that, despite the Gloucester fly-half winning two player of the season awards, he should not be part of England’s 2019 World Cup squad.
