A COMMUNIQUÉ issued by the Welsh Rugby Union on Friday morning merely confirmed what readers of The Rugby Paper had known for weeks, that Alun- Wyn Jones had agreed to renew his dual contract with Wales and the Ospreys for another season.
The statement’s failure to disclose the exact period of the new deal suggests that it will run until the end of the World Cup in 18 months’ time. That would then give Jones the option of a big pay-day in France.
