THE league season has been extended by a week because of rearrangements, Leeds Beckett bearing the brunt, playing Nottingham Trent on Wednesday and Cardiff Met on Friday.
It was Hartpury though who kicked proceedings off on Wednesday with a handsome 39-16 win over Durham.
The Palatinate were competitive at 19-16 courtesy of Ben Stevenson and Matt Welsh tries, plus two Tristan Rawcliffe penalties but had no answer to the hosts’ second half blitz.
