Abendanon, Strettle in French talks

CLERMONT Auverge have stepped up their efforts to keep former England internationals Dave Strettle, below, and Nick Abendanon.

The pair are out of contract at the end of the season and Clermont have opened talks about new deals.
Abendanon, 31, has been in France for the last three years after leaving Bath. He has been linked with Bristol.
That seems unlikely as Bristol have announced a huge deal to sign former All Black Charles Piutau from Ulster.
Strettle, 35 next summer, is attracting interest from Bordeaux.
