I can make peace with genuine reasons for delays like a tree has fallen on the track due to high winds but it gets me when, at the last minute, they announce that the driver has not turned in and there aren’t any available staff to replace him/her. You get this all the time on Southern Rail. I commute from Twickenham to Croydon via Clapham and the major engineering works at Waterloo just compound the problem.
