COVENTRY managing director Phil Maynard insists his club will not comply with RFU salary caps for leagues below the Championship, which he claims are “unenforceable”.
Salary cap proposals, first revealed by The Rugby Paper last September, have now been rubber-stamped by the RFU Council and will come into effect in levels three, four and five from season 2018-19, with clubs subjected to annual audits on their spending.
National One clubs will be limited to £275,000 on wages, with a £25,000 allowance for player-coaches, while caps at levels four and five have been set ...
