Andy Farrell believes his son Owen’s growing reputation as one of Rugby Union’s most creative playmakers was born in ‘Heaven’.
Or, to be more exact, the old Central Park ground in Wigan which was home to some of the legends of Rugby League.
Whenever Andy, assistant coach to British Lions’ boss Warren Gatland, went past the ground as a boy his own father used to stir his rugby ambitions by pointing to the towering floodlights over the main stand, saying: ‘Heaven’s there’.
