Geech points way ahead for future tours

The 1993 Lions tour of New Zealand was Ian McGeechan’s second as coach and the first time a Lions coach had been appointed for consecutive tours. Combined with his two tours as a player in 1974 and 1977 it meant McGeechan, below, was building an arsenal of knowledge and practical advise on how the Lions could maximise their talent and this had its ultimate expression four years later when he took charge of the 1997 party in South Africa.
