■BRISTOL are now the favourites to land Ireland fly-half Ian Madigan if he is released from the final year of his Bordeaux Begles contract.
Bristol have trumped a £500,000 deal that he had on the table from Northampton Saints and are now in pole position to do a deal.
But Madigan, right, will have to secure his release from the Top 14 outfit before he is able to put pen to paper on the contract Bristol have offered.
