The Six Nations is one of rugby’s biggest opportunities to increase its reach, and the broadcasters have a duty to provide the best and most appealing fare that they can. So how are things going so far?
Before the matches even start we have the chance to form a view: singers, or none? Do we focus on the crowd belting out the anthems, or do we have them led by someone standing on a pedestal? I’m firmly in the traditional camp on this one and the Scotland v Ireland match proved that passionate and loud fans are more than a match for any bussed-in singer.
