AS women’s rugby ripped through the world this autumn, and New Zealand were crowned world champions following a thrilling final against England, it’s fair to say that the overall winner was women’s rugby itself.
On paper England were the favourites of the tournament but a twist of fate saw them down to 14 players with 60 minutes to play. The Red Roses battled hard after an astonishing 30-game winning streak and had several chances to seal victory.
