WALES showed signs of resilience against New Zealand in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday but their efforts were in vain as a they went down 44-12.
Keen to show improvements from their poor Six Nations, Wales rattled the Black Ferns in the opening 40 minutes but still trailed 20-0 at the break after Selica Winiata and Stacey Waaka crossed while Renee Wickliffe picked up a double.
