Saitama Wild Knights sealed an unprecedented unbeaten league season with a 43-14 win over Canon Eagles.
In the third year of the competition’s current format, where teams play five teams twice and six teams once, Wild Knights have secured a second title and a ninth Japanese championship overall.
Their 16th and final win of the league season before the play-offs start came from a performance typical of their season, with a well fought first half followed by a second half in which they restricted their opponents from scoring.
