Richard Whiffin is hugely excited at the prospect of becoming the first Englishman to coach a New Zealand franchise in Super Rugby.
Whiffin has landed a plum job as head coach Clarke Dermody’s righthand man at the Highlanders, replacing Tony Brown as attack coach of the Dunedin-based outfit in 2023.
The Highlanders finished as the lowest-placed Kiwi team in the last Super Rugby season and have turned to Whiffin, currently in New Zealand as Wales Women’s skills coach at RWC 2021, as a fresh source of inspiration.
