In 2008, after a comprehensive win over France to lift the Six Nations title in Bergerac, South West France, the stadium announcer proclaimed that their French women had performed well considering they were up against a professional English team.
We were not professional then. Far from it. But my message to the team was that we should take this as the highest compliment. If other teams thought we were professional through our performance then let them.
