YOANN Maestri was in a foul mood following France’s farcical win over Wales, claiming refereee Wayne Barnes treated them like a “very small nation” by not awarding them a late penalty try.
Despite France putting Wales to the sword at the scrum in those 20 minutes of added time, English referee Barnes refused to go under the posts which would have handed France the win as they trailed by six points.
Damien Chouly went on to score and Camille Lopez slotted the winning conversion – but second row Maestri was still left fuming.
