South Americans keen to build on new foundations

Now the dust has settled on the World Cup, the three South American nations will reflect upon a mixed tournament, which encompassed both the abject and the spectacular.
Unlike the European nations, whose players are already back into the unforgiving swing of the domestic season, many of the South American players have some time to recuperate before they return to their clubs in February.
