Like the men, England’s women had both New Zealand and Sri Lanka in their pool, and in a further correlation to the men’s side similarly failed in their crucial clash to decide who was going to finish second in the pool.
They had the opportunity to settle in however, beating Sri Lanka 57-0 in their opener, with New Zealand hammering Canada 45-7 later.
