Pool B had two clear favourites and it was ultimately followed a predictable pattern, with Australia and Fiji progressing at the expense of Scotland and South Africa.
Neither of the two countries that exited the competition are a core nation in the World 7s Series, although they have both received invites to certain competitions on the tour with Russia’s removal from the series earlier this year.
