THE Rugby Championship can have a groundhog day feel some years – the perennial dominance of New Zealand rather ensures that – but perhaps the 2018 tournament that kicks off next weekend can buck that trend. New Zealand will probably still win but perhaps it won’t be quite as routine as usual and there will be a few scares along the way. The tournament would certainly benefit from a genuine contest.
