England fall behind France after opening day

FRANCE ended the first day of matches in the U18 Women’s Six Nations festival being held in north Wales as the only team to claim two wins, with England a win and a draw.
England began with a 19-12 victory over Ireland.
Ellie Wilson scored an early try for the junior Red Roses, breaking away to score under the posts after an Irish knock-on.
Caitriona Finn pulled the scores level with an intercept try, and Alma Atagamen’s try put Ireland ahead 12-7. Molly Molly Bunker set up Sarah Parry for England’s second try, converted by Bunker and Abigai...
