Black Ferns given a French shock

WORLD CHAMPIONS New Zealand suffered the biggest shock of the tournament so far as they were beaten by France.
The French raced into an early lead during a first half they dominated, with scrum-half Caroline Boujard serving as the beneficiary of a Jessy Tremouliere offload to score the opening try on five minutes.
Having beaten the Black Ferns on home soil last November, France extended their lead through the hawk-like instincts of centre Maelle Filopon who seized the free ball after Tremouliere’s penalty struck the post to score on the rebound.
