Hero Evans holds his nerve to swing it back Wales’ way

CAI Evans struck the decisive penalty in the dying seconds to defeat New Zealand in a dramatic encounter in Rosario to reach the fifth-place final.
Tiaan Thomas-Wheeler’s hack-and-chase try gave Wales a lead that lasted from the 17th to 70th minutes in a rain-disrupted game.
Tupou Vaa’i hit back and Fergus Burke converted and, after missing four earlier kicks, Evans struck the decisive penalty in the dying moments.
