OWEN Farrell was the subject of a South African comment piece this week saying that the Springboks should attempt to get into the England captain’s head in Cape Town following his “incessant moaning” at second Test referee Romain Poite.
Farrell was calling for Poite to take action against a Springbok “non-captain calling for a card”. The referee clearly took no notice, indicating that Farrell might do well to adopt the attitude as captain that less is more when he talks to the referee, and also that he saves it for big calls that really count.
