The third Test at Wellington was billed as the game when the All Blacks would put the Lions away. The tourists had been much better and more talented than most Lions parties, they could definitely play footie, but enough was enough.
The All Blacks had threatened to take the Lions apart in the second Test, outscoring them five tries to two in their 22-12 win, and now was the time to move in for the kill. Except it didn’t quite work out like that.
