The All Blacks endured a shaky start to their end of year tour in Japan with Brodie Retallick – who scored the opening try – seeing red in his 99th Test for a dangerous clear-out on Kazuki Himeno 14 minutes from full-time.
A try from outstanding Brave Blossoms flanker Himeno in the 77th minute brought the score back to four points, but New Zealand held on for the win with a Richie Mo’unga penalty in the last minute.
