The Cheetahs spoiled Morne Steyn’s Loftus swansong as they mounted a 19-point comeback to win 31-27 and secure first place in the Currie Cup.
The Bulls flew out of the gates and scored three tries inside 15 minutes with Steyn landing two conversions as they built a 19-0 lead.
But the Cheetahs hit back with two scores of their own and were aided by Elrigh Louw’s red card going into the break.
With a man advantage, the Cheetahs controlled the second half and behind Siya Masuku’s 12 points ensured a first place finish.
