Ireland flanker Josh van der Flier was named men’s player of the year at the World Rugby awards last Sunday.
New Zealand fly-half Ruahei Demant won the women’s player of the year. Teammate Ruby Tui was named breakthrough player of the year with Black Ferns boss Wayne Smith named coach of the year. Itay full-back Ange Capuozzo was named men’s breakthrough player of the year.
