LOUGHBOROUGH Lightning powered out of the blocks to establish a 28-7 half-time lead before Gloucester kicked into action and dominate the second forty.
After exchanging penalties in the opening minutes of the game Lightning went ahead with a first phase try from Helena Rowland, capitalising on a break from Georgie Lingham. Gloucester replied almost immediately, with newly capped Red Rose Connie Powell finishing off a rapid run from Emma Sing.
