The Autumn Nations Cup got off to a pretty awful start, with France v Fiji called off before a ball was even kicked after a number of players in the Fiji camp tested positive for coronavirus.
It was first reported that some tests in the Fiji camp had returned positive results early in the week. Authorities remained, publicly at least, confident that the game could still go ahead – French rugby’s been here before, after all.
But that confidence waned after a routine second battery...
