Premiership round-up
MERTHYR’S march towards the Welsh Premiership title continued with a thumping 64-21 bonus point win over Newbridge at the Wern.
The Ironmen ran in 10 tries and brought up 1,000 points for the season in the process.
They were 40-0up by half time. Ellis Shipp, Craig Locke, twice, Ben Jones, Daniel Phillips and Daf Land all scored in the first half. Ben Jones was successful with five of six conversions.
Jones scored his second try after the break, with Fin Baker, Jack Kathrens and Cerith Lloyd also on the scoresheet. Jacob Lloyd added two conversions.
