LEADERS Merthyr remain firmly in the box seat in the Welsh Premiership after picking up another bonus point win by defeating Bonymaen 59-31 at the Wern.
Full-back Jack Kathrens picked up a hat-trick to inspire the Ironmen to victory. Ben Jones, Cerith Lloyd, Ellis Shipp, Kodi Stone, Fin Baker and Rhys Davies also scored. Ben Jones converted seven of their nine tries.
The win maintains Merthyr’s seven-point advantage over Pontypridd at the top of the table with a game in hand.
