MERTHYR continued their relentless start in the Welsh Premiership with a thumping 61-10 defeat of Ystrad Rhondda at the Wern to make it four consecutive bonus-point wins.
After a closely contested first half, which the Ironmen edged 14-10, the home side then ran riot in the second half. Sam Cross and Jack Kathrens scored in the first half, with a further seven tries after the break from Ellis Shipp, Craig
Locke, Dafydd Thomas, a brace from Tom Hughes, Kian Evans and another for Kathrens. Rhys Davies converted eight of them.
