ALREADY crowned champions, Bargoed ran in nine tries as they came from 14-0 down to record a 59-21 victory over Bedwas in their penultimate Championship East match.

Dylan Williams, Rhys Stephens and Ashley Norton were all at the double with Keaton Davies, Tomoya Adachi and skipper James Leadbeater also scoring. Josh Prosser kicked seven conversions.

Max Rivers, Lloyd Wilkins and Adam Williams were the Bedwas try scorers, all converted by James Dixon.

The win for the followed on from their 59-0 defeat of bottom side Treorchy in midweek where there were also nine home tries and seven conversions.

Prosser and Williams were also on the scoresheet in that game. Matthew Lewis (2), Jordan Howells, Morgan Edwards, James Locke, Morgan Thomas and Jason James were the other try scorers. Prosser added six conversions and Lewis one.

Rumney captain Lewis Hill scored a bonus point winning try on his 100th appearance to secure a 26-17 win over Beddau in their penultimate league fixture.

Taylor Pescud, Alfy Johnson and Owain Govier were the other Rumney try scorers with Jake Hillman adding three conversions.

There are just two fixtures remaining, both next Saturday – with Rumney hosting Bargoed and Bedwas entertaining Treorchy.
