Something had to give at the Welfare Ground as the two unbeaten teams, Newbridge and Brecon, met for the biggest game of the season to date in Admiral Division 1 East.
The home side brought their perfect eight-match unbeaten run into the game, while former champions Brecon arrived with a six out of six record. Newbridge led by 13 points thanks to their eight successive bonus points ahead of the clash.
