A DEWI Cross hat-trick helped Cardiff solidify their position at the top of the with a thrashing of Swansea.

Steve Law’s side took the lead after a mere two minutes when Cross angle to run in un- at the scr touched down for his ninth try of the season.

The hosts soon extended their lead when Tom Habberfield ran in unopposed from 40 metres out with Ben Burnell adding the extras.

Cardiff were on fire and a superb break from Cross put them on the front foot before he drew in the last defender to put Aaron Pinches over for their third try. Burnell’s conversion was successful meaning Cardiff turned around with a commanding 19-0 lead.

Cardiff dominated the second half, but it wasn’t all good news for the Blue

& Blacks, who had James Richards sent off for a high tackle. But Cardiff claimed their try bonus point when highly-rated hooker Efan Daniel powered over.

Daniel was soon celebrating his second try when he forced his way over the line after a pe- squeeze in at the corner. And Richards completed his hat-trick with a break from 45 metres.

second-row Josh Helps did cross for a late consolation try for Quins but it was a case of too little too late.
