MORGAN Richards’ hattrick fired Ebbw Vale to a comprehensive bonus-point victory over lowly Carmarthen Quins.
The Steelmen wasted no time in opening the scoring when Dylan
Bartlett showed his strength to force his way over from short range. Evan Lloyd added the extras and, soon after, full-back Richards regathered a chip over the top to touch down.
On the stroke of halftime Chad Thomas hit a nice angle to run in unopposed from 25 metres. Lloyd converted on both occasions meaning the hosts led 19-0 at the break.
