IT was the boot of Lisa Martin that made the difference, as Saracens edged home against Loughborough Lightning at the StoneX Stadium.
The hosts went close in the opening minutes, before losing control of the ball on the line. That didn’t stop their charge, though, as Kelsey Clifford crashed over from close range.
Loughborough stuck to their task and pulled themselves back into the contest, as Katie Trevarthen edged through a gap in the Saracens defence, before Maja Meuller put her side ahead.
