ABERAVON rode an early storm at the Brewery Field, before bagging eight tries, and 34 second-half points, to triumph 49-14 against Bridgend Ravens in their opening game in Group B of the WRU Premiership Cup.
The unbeaten leaders of the Indigo Premiership found themselves trailing 11-3 five minutes before the break, but then changed ends 15-11 to the good thanks to a Frankie Jones try and a penalty try. The latter was a double whammy for the Ravens, who had hooker Evan Yardley sent to the sin-bin for a deliberate knock-on.
