It will be an unexpected surprise if Warren Gatland contacts the head coaches of the four Welsh regions ahead of the Six Nations to discuss thoughts on player selection, according to Dai Young.
The Cardiff director of rugby believes Gatland “knows Welsh rugby inside out”, and isn’t expecting the new head coach to ask his opinion.
The New Zealander’s squad for the Six Nations, the first he’s picked since retaking the reigns last month, features only eight Cardiff players, despite the Blue And Blacks being the top region in the URC this season, whereas 14 Ospreys are in.
