Relieved Leinster coach Leo Cullen was happy to get a bonus point win in Parma but has work to do ahead of next week’s game against Benetton.
The most prolific winners of the URC looked set for another landslide win at Stadio Lanfranchi as they raced into a 21-0 lead inside 26 minutes.
Zebre, who brought in 21 players over the summer, conceded seven penalties around their 22 in that time and Leinster punished them with No.9 Luke McGrath darting over and veteran flanker Rhys Ruddock twice driving over.
