Santander, the Spanish-owned British banking giants, has caused fury among leading Championship clubs after producing a report to attract investment for stricken Jersey Reds.
According to the report, which has been published on the Jersey government’s website, Championship rivals Ealing Trailfinders, Coventry, Doncaster, and Cornish Pirates were all spending at least £2m on wages.
It claimed Ealing’s wage bill is over £4m, Coventry £2.5m, Doncaster and Pirates £2m while claiming Reds were spending only £1.1m in 2022-23.
