Ampthill v London Scottish is the lone game to survive this New Years Day.
Covid-19 infection rates continue to wreak havoc on rugby around the world, with table toppers Doncaster Knights game vs Bedford Blues being postponed on Thursday due to Covid-19 cases in the Bedford camp.
Additionally, Jersey Reds have no game this weekend due to the odd number of teams in the division.
There were just three games played on Boxing Day as Cornish Pirates v Hartpury University and Nottingham v Richmond were postponed. The results of the three that survived were:
Coventry 26 – 22 Ampthill
London Scottish 19 – 39 Doncaster Knights
Bedford Blues 28 – 19 Jersey Reds
On Boxing Day Ampthill conceded a ten point margin to narrowly lose to Coventry. The loss meant Coventry leap-frogged Ampthill into seventh place in the table.
London Scottish were once again well beaten on Boxing Day, this time at home to Doncaster Knights. Scottish still sit bottom of the Championship, eight points adrift of Nottingham who have played two games less than Scottish.
Sunday’s The Rugby Paper will have exclusive match reports and reaction from the one big match. Plus, we’ll look ahead to Sunday’s Hartpury University v Nottingham fixture.
