While conceding that RFU CEO Bill Sweeney, once a stalwart with Weybridge Vandals, knows his rugby much better than his predecessor – tennis fiend Ian Ritchie – I would suggest he probably still needs educating as to just how strong the Championship was, and could still be, if treated as an asset rather than as a white elephant that needs to be off-loaded.
