EALING kick-started their season with a record win over Jersey to redeem themselves after last Sunday’s surprising opening defeat to Cornish Pirates. In conditions as variable as Jersey’s performance, Trailfinders’ physical dominance at both the scrum and in the loose saw them whitewash the Reds in the first half before conceding six tries in an end-to-end second 40 minutes.
Despite the seven-try win – their eighth in a row against the islanders – boss Ben Ward declared the promotion- chasers still have a lot to work on.
