I can’t believe that it’s ten years since Deano ‘carried the can’ for the game by taking the fall over the ‘Bloodgate’ affair because of that infamous wink. At the time, pretty much every team in the Premiership if not the world, had a blood strategy in case there was ever a need to bring a player back on.
A situation that was created by the IRB when they banned substituted players from returning to the pitch, unless they were front row forwards (God’s chosen few) or as a ‘temporary’ replacement...
