WHAT should have been a cracking derby was spoiled by more than 30 penalties but the result does indicate further improvement by Yorkshire Carnegie.
Struggling at the bottom of the Championship with only one win, Carnegie have now won twice in the Cup and it’s clear that selfconfidence is returning.
Played in perfect conditions at Brantingham Park, home of Hull Ionians, and watched by former England coach Stuart Lancaster, Carnegie’s victory was built on a dominant first half display.
