HARTPURY deservedly edged a tense encounter against newly-promoted Coventry.
On a wet and gloomy afternoon, conditions dictated it would be a tight affair and the Hartpury pack proved to be slightly more effective in the rain with two driven first half tries setting the platform at 14-0.
But Hartpury’s old enemy – lack of composure – was to haunt them and Coventry fought back to make it a nervy affair.
